a protected area located between Siculiana Marina and Eraclea Minoa, protected by the WWF. The reserve is characterized by one of the few dune environments left on the island.

It is a village of 51 inhabitants, belonging to the municipality of Ribera,a well-preserved example of new rural villages built in the late thirties in Sicily. Today it is inhabited especially in the summer. Also to the municipality of Ribera also belongs the seaside village Seccagrande.
